To build a community of young, emerging artists, thinkers and enthusiasts who are driven to develop the craft of both themselves and others through performance and discussion. 

 

Our Mission

 

Terra Nemo, or No Man's Land, is "an anomalous, ambiguous, or indefinite area," the space between school and industry.

 

Terra Nemo Theatre Company aims to provides present secondary and tertiary education students, as well as recent graduates, a platform for experimentation and learning across a variety of theatrical production roles. We encourage company members to take initiative and create their own new theatrical works. Each project is underpinned by a research methodology, encouraging those involved to apply and reflect on their learnings, both through their personal process and exploration into that of practitioners - both past and present, national and international. 

 

Our Ethos

 

All of our work is underpinned by a methodology that focuses heavily on feedback throughout the process. By doing this we hope to encourage not only experimentation but also objective assessment of the creative team’s work. Our primary way of doing this, asides from audience response after the production, is through ‘Bare Essentials.’ To read more about this initiative, please click here.

This is done in conjunction with offering our audiences the option to pay what they feel their experience “was worth, if at all” after the performance. All funds received through this unique payment scheme go towards the company's future endeavours.
